COLLETTE - Dr. Kathleen G., a doctor of veterinary medicine, died peacefully in her home on September 27, 2000 after her courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was 43. Dr. Collette attended St. Jerome Grammar School and went on to graduate from St. Thomas Aquinas High school in 1982, she graduated from the University of Florida, receiving her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Kathy returned to Ft. Lauderdale, and opened her successful animal clinic (Capital Animal Hospital). Dr. Collette was a member of the AVMA, as well as a faithful and practicing member of the Christian community. She is survived by her parents, Paul and Toni Collette; sister, Laurie Jacobson; brother, Chris Collette; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Kim Collette; niece and nephew, Michelle and Brian Collette; aunt Janice -Collette; cousin Paul Collette and his wife, Barbara and their daughter, Amber; as well as her true friend through life, Sue Hanson, all of whom reside in Fort Lauderdale. Faithful and loving animals, Sally, Diana, and Lacey further survive her. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all of Kathy's many supportive and loving friends, as well as her caregivers for all the love they bestowed to her. She will truly be missed by all of those whose lives she touched so deeply. Flowers may be sent and friends are invited to attend a Memorial on Friday, September 29, 2000 from 7:00 9:00 PM at FAIRCHILD FUNERAL HOME, 299 N. Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, 954-763-4488. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2000 at 10:00 AM at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 2533 SW 9 Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale. Donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 5450 NW 33 Ave, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33309.

Article from web: Dr. Collette (FL '82), 43, Fort Lauderdale, Fla, died Sept 27, 2000. A small animal practitioner, Dr. Collette established the Capitol Plaza Animal Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, where she worked until her retirement in 1993. Prior to that, Dr. Collette was a relief veterinarian.
